Alexandria Boswell had been cooking for family, friends and co-workers since early childhood. To pursue her lifelong passion for
cooking and food she enrolled at the San Diego Culinary Institute. She graduated at the top of her class and was awarded the Diplome Professionnel du Commis de Cuisine.
During her time in culinary school, Alex entered and won the first ever Foster Farms Chicken Cooking Contest. In addition to winning over $10,000 from Foster Farms, she has appeared on Channel 6 - San Diego Living, Channel 10 - Sacramento & Co., KGO Radio Dining Around with Gene Burns, and in the process gained a legion of fans.
She went on to train with French Laundry Alum, Executive Chef Gregory Short and work at Masa's Restaurant in San Francisco. Masa's is a Michelin Star and Gayot Top 40 Restaurant serving French-California Cuisine. Alex then spent time working at Alan Wong's in Honolulu to hone her 5-Star Asian Fuison skills. Alan Wong's has been named one of America's Top 50 Restaurants by Gourmet Magazine. Upon returning to the Mainland, Alex spent the next year working as Executive Chef of Zel's in Del Mar serving American Coastal Cuisine to locals and visitors
Opening in November 2013, Torrey Pines Gourmet is the successful synthesis of her love for kitchen gadgets, equipment and her love for food and entertaining. As a complement to the catering operation, the retail store provides a fabulous showcase filled with incredible culinary wares, gifts and gourmet ingredients. Every item has a story and a reason it is in the store. TPG provides a variety of custom catered events ranging from special occasion private dinner parties, corporate team building and customized cooking workshops.
